In the theater and dance world, LED Fresnel stage lighting is most commonly used for medium distance top or back lighting. In small venues, they are occasionally used for headlamps. Although the relative lack of control of LED Fresnel stage lighting is a major disadvantage compared with ellipsoidal lamps. The unique soft beam of LED Fresnel stage lighting makes it very useful as a special beam in some cases.
